Book Four: The MetaModern Prometheus (coming June, 2029)

The Reanimated Dead

Petra Beck handles her father's murder the way she handles everything: efficiently. Death certificate filed, funeral arranged, breakfast eaten with the appropriate caloric distribution for grief maintenance. Feeling things is inefficient. Feeling things gets you killed.

What she can't file away is the dead boy in the garage: Oskar Southbridge, stitched back together from his own broken body and pieces of a four-thousand-year-old mummy, dragged back across the threshold of death by her father's stolen science. Oskar didn't ask to return. He woke up wrong, and he knows it.

As the cult tightens its grip and something vast begins to drown the town from beneath, Petra and Oskar make unlikely allies: the girl who refuses to feel, and the boy who feels everything he was never meant to feel again. The Made Thing is about what gets built when good intentions go to war with a god, and the terrible cost of bringing back what death already claimed.
